Improve your skills no matter your current level…

Acting Workshops -The Family Community Theatre is trying something new. We want to offer you the opportunity to gain new skills or sharpen the ones you have by offering a series of three workshops centered on the fundamentals of dance for a musical, singing for a musical, and acting skills. Even if you have been in shows before, it is important to continue to develop your skills.

Registration fees are $15 per class.


 

Workshop Sessions:

Sessions will be taught by experienced and skilled instructors – Piper Harding, Ben Jones, and Seth Svaty. The sessions will be held in the evenings. Specific times will be set by the instructor. A minimal fee of $15 per workshop (acting, singing, and dancing) will be charged. Fees are due in person upon arrival at the beginning of each workshop. Credit cards, checks, and cash will be accepted.

 

Acting Workshop | August 5 – 9, 2019

Instructor – Piper Harding

Class description: Students will receive one-on-one acting striation with ensemble work, script analysis/structure, scene study, games, and monologues.

Dancing Workshop | August 12-16, 2019

Instructor – Piper Harding

Class description: Students will learn specific steps used in musical theatre and be challenged to learn new ones. Students will learn choreography to two music theatre numbers.

Singing Workshop | August 19-23, 2019

Instructors – Piper Harding, Ben Jones, and Seth Svaty

Class description­­: Students will be assigned a song on the first day of class and work on it throughout the week with a vocal coach. Learn new ways to approach a song and develop your technique. At the end of the week, you will perform your song and get constructive feedback from workshop instructors.
